Layering Up w/ Maui Jim

If you’ve been following along, you know just how much I’ve loved styling Maui Jim sunglasses all year long. Whether it’s a summer morning in Coney Island or a fall afternoon in the city, I always make sure to have a trusty pair with me. So for my final Maui Jim post of the year, I wanted to show you yet another way to style them.

Fall/winter in New York is very much bipolar, so you need to be ready at all times. No better way to be prepared for strange shifts in the weather than to layer. I like this turtleneck, denim jacket, topcoat combo because no matter which item I decide to take off or keep on, I’m left with something stylish. Of course, no look is complete without some Maui Jim’s to keep away that winter glare. Here I’m in the Flatiron District wearing one of my 2017 staples, a super lightweight and comfy aviator. Also, check out some additional facts about Maui Jim’s that you might not have known

Skin Cancer Prevention. Maui Jim sunglasses have earned the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation as an effective UV filter for the eyes and surrounding skin.

Blue-Light Protection. High-energy Visible Radiation (HEV), also known as blue light, has lower energy rays than UV, however recent research suggests they can penetrate deeply into the eye and cause damage. Maui Jim patented lens technology, including their proprietary blend of rare Earth elements, provides highly effective HEV reduction without removing the beautiful blues of the world.

Water & Oil Proof. Permanent waterproof and oleophobic (oil repellant) coatings are applied to all lenses so that they won’t wear off over time. Maui Jim Sunglasses will quickly shed water and snow, and any smudges or fingerprints on the front or back will wipe away easily.
